Morrill Hall open to the public on Labor Day
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore natural history during the upcoming holiday weekend at the University of Nebraska State Museum-Morrill Hall, which will remain open to the public on Monday from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The University of Nebraska State Museum continues its use of timed tickets to allow extra time for cleaning and to promote social distancing. Visitors must purchase tickets in advance. The museum offers free admission for children under age 4 and discounts for veterans, seniors, Museums for All families and UNL employees, but registration is required. Visitors can select discount options when registering for tickets.
Most amenities and exhibits will be open Labor Day. A paleontologist-in-residence will be at the Cherish Nebraska visible lab on Sunday and Monday. Museum member giveaways will occur throughout the weekend. Details are posted on the UNSM website.
To protect visitors, staff and researchers, additional health and safety precautions continue. The following areas and amenities remain closed: Mueller Planetarium, the Marx Discovery Center and the mother’s room.
Guests over age 3 are required to wear a face covering. Disposable masks will be available for purchase for guests who arrive without one. Visitors are encouraged to be familiar with current restrictions and rules, available here, before arriving. Those with questions may contact visitor services at 402-472-2637.
