Save the date for Nebraska Research Days, Nov. 9-13
Event to feature arts and humanities workshops and familiar favorites
Nebraska Research Days, a weeklong celebration of research, scholarship and creative activity, is slated for Nov. 9-13.
The fall Nebraska Research Days events include arts and humanities workshops; Faculty Research and Creative Activity Slam; Association for Women in Science Luncheon; Faculty Recognition Breakfast and more.
Opportunities for faculty
New this year is a modular workshop, “Arts and Humanities Research Futures,” presented by Russell Wyland, who is nationally recognized for his work at the National Endowment for the Humanities and currently is president and founder of Humanities Solutions LLC. The series is intended to help researchers navigate the shifting funding landscape and develop advanced grant-writing skills. The four sessions on Nov. 10-11 are designed so faculty can attend any combination that fits their interests and schedules.
Wyland will offer 20-minute one-on-one consultations with faculty members who want to discuss their projects, funding options and proposal strategies. Participants must book their session.
Faculty are reminded that applications to present at the Slam are due Oct. 7. The annual Slam features highly engaging five-minute presentations by Nebraska faculty. A panel of judges from the Lincoln community will select the winner, and audience members will vote to select an audience’s choice award.
Below is an overview of Nebraska Research Days, hosted by the Office of Research and Innovation. Events are open to the UNL research community unless otherwise noted.
