Effective management of research projects relies not only on procedures but also on the people involved. The Research Project Management Office (PMO) collaborates across the Office of Research and Economic Development offices in combination with faculty, staff, and administrators to strengthen the success of large-scale, complex, and translational research projects at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The PMO supports multifaceted teams managing intricate projects from project initiation and planning through project execution, allowing scholars to focus on their project goals.
By involving the PMO during the early stages of proposals, we can support the development of the project management, dissemination, communication, and sustainability plans that create a winning application.
To keep project timelines on track, we act as the liaison between the project team, partners, and sponsors. This ensures everyone works as a team, providing effective communication on all developments and deadlines.
At award, we utilize proven project management tools and techniques to provide effective and efficient planning, budgeting, procurement, event management, reporting, and delivery for each project. We take on the administrative burden so the project team can focus on the deliverables.
To ensure maximum exposure and impact throughout the project – and at its conclusion – we work with the project team on outreach and diversity, equity, and inclusion activities to fully utilize project results and execute sustainability.
