Publications celebrate Nebraska U research, creative activity success
Groundbreaking University of Nebraska–Lincoln research, innovation and faculty achievements are featured in two newly released publications. Both are available online and showcase the university’s continued impact in scientific discovery and creative scholarship.
The 2023-24 Research Report is a comprehensive look at the university’s academic and research excellence, targeted toward a national audience that includes peer institutions, Big Ten academic leaders, federal program officers, partners, alumni and the broader scientific community. The 2024 online edition features dynamic stories of faculty achievement across UNL’s nine academic colleges. Topics range from economic development and infrastructure upgrades to major honors and creative impact.
The cover features an artistic interpretation of corn DNA illustrated by Joel Brehm. It accompanies a story about Husker plant scientist James Schnable, who is part of an international research team that created the first complete map of the corn genome.
The online edition includes bonus content, including videos, photos and links to journal articles and related news stories.

The second publication, 2024 Major Sponsored Programs and Faculty Awards highlights major grants and sponsored awards that were active this year. The list includes early career awards; fellowships and other major recognitions and honors; books, chapters, articles and creative literature published by Nebraska faculty; performances, exhibitions and other creative activities; patents, licensing agreements, and National Science Foundation I-Corps teams; conference presentations; and mentors/mentees who participated in undergraduate research programs.
