Farewell reception for Espy is today
The UNL community is invited to a farewell reception for Kimberly Andrews Espy from 3:30-4:30 p.m. June 15 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center, 313 N. 13th St. A short program is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Espy, associate vice chancellor of research and professor of psychology, is leaving UNL to become vice president for research and innovation at the University of Oregon.
She joined UNL in 2005 and has been responsible for strategic interdisciplinary initiatives, research compliance and faculty development. Espy started the Research Development Fellows Program, an initiative to help pre-tenure faculty successfully compete for external grant funding. She also was acting dean of Graduate Studies and directs UNL’s Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, which investigates young children’s cognitive development.
"Please join us to celebrate Dr. Espy's accomplishments at UNL, wish her the best in her new endeavors and give her a warm Husker send-off as she heads to Oregon," said Prem Paul, vice chancellor for research and economic development.
The reception is hosted by the Office of Research and Economic Development.
