STEM-focused collaboration between UNL, community colleges to be announced Friday

The campus community is invited to attend an announcement and celebration of a $3.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to launch STEM CONNECT, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln partnership with state community colleges aimed at bolstering Nebraska’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics workforce. The event is at 11:00 a.m. in the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St., Platte River Room. Featured speakers include Chancellor Ronnie Green; Paul Illich, president of Southeast Community College; Bob Wilhelm, vice chancellor for research and economic development; Jim Lewis, Aaron Douglas Professor of mathematics and the project’s principal investigator; and other project leaders.
