Spring Research Fair is April 14-15

Showcasing students’ research and creative accomplishments as well as special events for faculty are highlights of the spring UNL Research Fair April 14-15.
A full schedule of events is available online.

Activities include poster sessions featuring graduate students’ and undergraduates’ work, an Environmental Health and Safety colloquium and a workshop on Research Experiences for Undergraduates programs at UNL.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the poster sessions, which offer opportunities for students to communicate about their work and build interdisciplinary connections. The sessions are April 14 for graduate students and April 15 for undergraduates. Both poster sessions are 3:30-5 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room and Ballroom. The Office of Graduate Studies sponsors these events, with NUtech Ventures providing additional support for the graduate session.

April 14 events kick off with a National Science Foundation REU Grants Workshop and Luncheon, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Regency Suite. Participants will learn about the Nebraska Summer Research Program, and resources on campus and through NSF for starting an REU.

A special session on building a safety culture, part of the EHS Colloquium Series, is part of the April 15 lineup. Sean Kaufman, a national expert on behavior and public safety, will present “Safety Culture: Perspectives and Practices.” Kaufman will discuss what he learned serving on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s response team during anthrax attacks and SARS outbreak. He also consulted with Emory University staff on responding to the Ebola outbreak in 2014.

The Office of Research and Economic Development hosts the biannual event in cooperation with campus partners. Follow the event on Twitter using the hashtag #UNLRF.
