IGERT internal competition deadline Jan. 14

The Office of Research and Economic Development is conducting an internal competition to select one project team to develop UNL’s application for the National Science Foundation’s 2013 Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) award.

Jan. 14 is the deadline for filing an online notification of intent to submit form. If more than one team files an intent to submit, all teams will be asked to submit a UNL pre-proposal by midnight Feb. 15 via email as a single PDF to unlresearch@unl.edu. Details and guidelines for submitting pre-proposals are available online.

NSF’s IGERT program is designed to meet the challenges of educating doctoral-level scientists and engineers who will pursue careers in research and education with interdisciplinary backgrounds, deep knowledge in chosen disciplines, and technical, professional and personal skills to become future leaders and creative agents for change. UNL can submit only one IGERT proposal.

More information is available on the Office of Research and Economic Development’s Limited Submissions Web page. If you have questions about this process or the IGERT program, contact Tisha Mullen, director of proposal development, at tgilreathmullen2@unl.edu  or (402) 472-2894.
