A series of April workshops will offer faculty tips on how to prepare grant proposals for the National Institutes of Health.
Great Plains IDeA-Clinical and Translational Research will sponsor the free virtual training. The first session, Structuring NIH Proposals, will be offered 8-11 a.m. on April 16 and April 23. It will cover the framework for the specific aims or overview of proposals with hands-on examples; discuss the significance, innovation and approach guidelines; and explain the role of program officers and the viewpoints of reviewers.
Another virtual session, the Ecosystem of NIH K Awards, will be offered 8 a.m.-noon April 24. It will cover the requirements and nuances of Research Career Development Awards applications; emphasize the purpose of each application part and how different sections must mesh; and connect proposal elements to tell a story in a cohesive way.
The workshops will be facilitated by the AtKisson Training Group. All participants will receive an electronic version of ATG’s Handbook for Planning and Writing Successful Grant Proposals, which is designed to accompany the seminar.
Registration is required for the grant writing workshop.
