Applications are open for the first cohort of the Faculty External Fellowships Program.

The Faculty External Fellowships Program is aimed at helping faculty increase their competitiveness when applying for external, project-based fellowships. Participants will learn how to best position themselves to pursue a fellowship to support their research, scholarship or creative endeavors.

An external, project-based fellowship is a competitive award funded by an organization outside the university that supports an individual to carry out defined research, scholarly or creative project.

The four-session program runs from Jan. 20 to March 3, 2026, and will consist of a combination of instruction and interactive workshops. These activities are designed to help participants be strategic in applying for external fellowships. Program sessions will be taught by Office of Research and Innovation staff.

Applications are due Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. Visit the program webpage to view the full schedule and apply.

R&I also will host “Fellowships 101,” a workshop designed for faculty beginning their pursuit of an external fellowship. Those interested in participating in the Faculty External Fellowships Program are encouraged to attend. The workshop will be held virtually Dec. 3, noon to 1 p.m. p.m. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
