The Office of Research and Economic Development is seeking applicants for NU 2 NIH, an initiative to help faculty develop competitive proposals for submission to the National Institutes of Health.
During 2022-2023, NU 2 NIH will focus on the strategic development of NIH Research Project Grant (R01) application components, including specific aims, research strategy, budget and ancillary documents. Programming will run from late October 2022 to April 2023. This will be followed by two rounds of proposal review during the summer of 2023 with intended proposal submission in early October 2023.
ORED will select up to 12 faculty to participate in the program through a campus-wide application process. To be eligible to apply, faculty must conduct research in areas fundable by NIH who have not yet received R01 support as principal investigator and complete Part 1 of the NIH R01 Development Workshop, which is scheduled Sept. 22-23.
NU 2 NIH applications for the 2022-2023 program will open at the conclusion of September workshop and are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7.
