Several internal funding programs sponsored by the Office of Research and Innovation and the Research Council have spring application deadlines.

The spring deadline for R&I’s Arts and Humanities Research Enhancement Program is March 3. The program is designed to foster research, scholarship and creative activity in the arts and humanities. It provides up to $15,000 to help faculty achieve short-term goals that, in turn, increase competitiveness for external grants or increase the societal impact of their work.

Applications for the Research Council’s Visiting Scholar/Distinguished Lecturer/Symposia opportunity is March 14,. Up to $800 is available for support of visiting scholars; up to $3,000 for distinguished lecturers; and up to $3,000 for symposia.

Proposals to the Layman Awards competition are due April 1. Funding of up to $10,000 is available for projects submitted to one of two award types:

In addition, R&I accepts applications for two funding programs on a rolling (continual) basis. Biomedical Research Seed Grants support faculty seeking R21 or R01 funding from the National Institutes of Health. Revision Awards are available to help faculty revise promising federal grant applications that were previously unfunded.
