Bureau of Industry and Security Export Enforcement Briefing and Roundtable Discussion

Under a new Academic Outreach Initiative, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has partnered with the University of Nebraska to prioritize outreach to UNL for our research with commercial, military, and dual-use technologies.  BIS's goal is to help UNL safeguard all research from threatening foreign government influence and ensuring our research environment is welcoming to all individuals and empowering them to work in a safe and inclusive manner with the highest ethical standards. 

Please join the University of Nebraska Export Control Office for a briefing and roundtable discussion with the BIS's Office of Export Enforcement (OEE). OEE will present on topics relevant to university-based research, including fundamental research, export-controlled and emerging technologies, foreign influence, and previous enforcement cases. The presentation is open to anyone currently engaged in or interested in engaging in export-controlled research. Registration is required for the event, please RSVP below.

Participants will come away with:

  • What an export is and what export control regulations are.
  • Understanding the University's efforts to comply with export controls.
  • Identifying export controls relevant to the research community.
