USGS official speaking on climate change
Douglas Beard, director of the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center, will present a public talk Aug. 24 at UNL on “Estimating Inland Fisheries Production: Is There a Crisis?” The free presentation is at 3 p.m. in the Hardin Hall auditorium on East Campus. The National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center’s mission is to understand climate change impacts on fish and wildlife and develop tools that resource managers can use to protect species and their habitats.
