Update on partial government shutdown

News for Researchers

Posted January 29, 2019 by Jeff Wilkerson

The 35-day partial government shutdown temporarily ended Jan. 25, extending funding for affected agencies until Feb. 15. The Office of Sponsored Programs advises Nebraska researchers to continue visiting UNL’s federal government shutdown website for the latest information from federal agencies.

While most investigators with active funding were able to continue working as usual during the shutdown, some agencies are announcing operational changes that may affect Nebraska researchers. Proposal deadlines, awards processing and change requests may be adjusted. OSP will post all notifications from agencies on the shutdown website.

A number of agencies from which Nebraska investigators receive grants are awaiting approval on appropriations for fiscal year 2019, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Science Foundation, Department of Commerce and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. A complete list is available here.

Researchers should contact their pre-award coordinator for questions about a specific proposal, or their post-award coordinator for inquiries about awarded projects. View the staff directory.
