Nebraska faculty should be aware of key deadlines for the 2025 Grand Challenges Catalyst Competition, the final year of this initiative.
The deadline for providing notice of intent to submit is Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. CST. Notices of intent must be submitted via the Internal Competitions module in NuRamp. As outlined in the request for proposals, only proposals for catalyst award support will be accepted in 2025.
The proposal deadline is April 25 at 5 p.m. CST. Faculty are urged to plan ahead, as deadlines will be strictly enforced for notices of intent and final proposals.
Seats remain open for the Grand Challenges lunch and learn on Feb. 6 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Nebraska Union Regency Suite. Registration is required.
Nathan Meier, associate vice chancellor for research, capacity and competitiveness, will address questions about the 2025 request for proposals and the process for providing notice of intent to submit. A panel discussion will feature insights from investigators who lead catalyst awards. The panelists, who will offer tips for submitting successful proposals, are:
- Galen Erickson, Nebraska Cattle Industry Professor of animal science.
- Tomas Helikar, Eberhard Professor of biochemistry.
- Yusong Li, associate dean for faculty and inclusion, and professor of civil and environmental engineering.
