International research collaborations and travel continue to play an important role in advancing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s research mission. As international travel requirements, research security expectations and global engagement considerations evolve, Export Control and Global Affairs offices are partnering to offer training sessions designed to help university personnel prepare for safe and compliant international travel.
The training is open to faculty, postdoctoral associates, graduate students, research staff, grants administration personnel, and other university employees who travel internationally or support international research activities. Participants will learn about university policies and guidance related to international travel, export control requirements, foreign influence and research security considerations, and recommended practices for protecting university data and devices while abroad. Time will be reserved at the end of each session for questions and discussion.

By attending this training, participants will be able to:
- Recognize international travel compliance requirements and university procedures that may apply to research, teaching and business travel abroad.
- Identify research security, foreign influence and export control considerations associated with international collaborations, activities and destinations.
- Apply best practices for traveling with university equipment, data and technology to reduce risks and help protect research and university information.
