The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Engagement Collaborative invites UNL faculty, staff, postdocs and students to attend its fall webinar series, UNL Initiative for Meaningful Partnerships Advancing Communities Together.
The monthly, one-hour UNL IMPACT webinars kick off 3 p.m. Sept. 10 with a presentation by Rod Williams, vice provost for outreach and engagement at Texas Tech University and vice president of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium.
In his role at Texas Tech, Williams fosters connections between the university and communities and champions the co-creation of scholarly work with community partners. His presentation, “Developing Your Engagement Strategy,” will offer insights and suggestions for programming effective community engagement while leveraging this work for your professional dossier.

Other UNL IMPACT sessions, taking place 3-4 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, will build foundational knowledge to increase participants’ confidence and capacity for community-engaged research, teaching and outreach. While participants are encouraged to join multiple sessions, each is designed to stand on its own and to be meaningful for those with varying degrees of community engagement experience, from novice to seasoned veteran.
Upcoming sessions will focus on the following themes.
- Oct. 8: Planning for community engagement
- Nov. 12: Identifying community stakeholders
- Dec. 10: Evaluating community-engaged projects
