Grand Challenges News for Researchers

Nebraska researchers are invited to a Nov. 15 Grand Challenges panel discussion aimed at helping faculty sharpen their project planning skills for the Grand Challenges Catalyst Competition and beyond. Teams who earned funding during the first two competition cycles will also be recognized.
The event is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Nebraska Union, Platte River Room. Registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
The panelists and their Grand Challenges projects are:
- Tomas Helikar, Susan J. Rosowski Professor of biochemistry, catalyst award, “Digital Twin Innovation Lab.”
- Mohammad Hasan, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, planning grant, “Building Community Connections for Improved Climate Resilience and Food Security: A Tribal Non-Tribal Partnership Investigating the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Affecting Behavior Change.”
- Anne Schutte, associate professor, and Nicholas Hubbard, assistant professor, of psychology, planning grant, “Advancing Cutting-Edge Research and Practices to Increase Access and Use of Green Space and Outdoor Play in Early Childhood Settings.”
