The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Engagement Collaborative invites faculty, staff and graduate students to a series of monthly one-hour webinars designed to increase their confidence and capacity for community-engaged research, teaching and outreach.
The Zoom sessions for the “Engaging Communities, Expanding Impact” professional development series will take place 11 a.m. to noon, typically on the second Tuesday of the month. Registration is required.
The series will empower participants with practical skills to partner with communities and co-create solutions for meaningful impact. The series kicks off Sept. 9 with Jocelyn Bosley, research impact coordinator, and Jentry Barrett, Nebraska Extension educator and coordinator, leading a conversation titled “Community Engagement and Impact: So What? Why Now?”
While participants are encouraged to join multiple sessions, each is designed to stand on its own and to be meaningful for participants with various degrees of community engagement experience, from novice to seasoned veteran.
Other fall sessions will focus on the following themes:
Oct. 14: Identifying community stakeholders
Nov. 11: Planning for community engagement
Dec. 2: Partnering with communities
The series will continue in the spring with focused case studies highlighting various forms and examples of community engagement.
