The Office of Research and Innovation is launching a new program aimed at advancing university-industry research collaborations and technology commercialization.
The Nebraska Industry Collaboration and Engagement (NICE) Research Program provides clear, flexible options for companies to conduct collaborative research and development with the university. The terms feature minimal downstream financial obligations, elimination of licensing and royalty negotiations, and control of the patent process for sponsors that choose an exclusive license.
Details about the program options and terms are available on the NICE website.
For sponsors that prefer to wait until after intellectual property is developed to negotiate a license agreement, the university’s Standard Industry Sponsored Research Terms are still available.
For questions about the NICE program, contact Zane Gernhart, executive director of Industry Relations.
