The Nebraska Research community is encouraged to save the dates for Nebraska Research Days on Nov. 17-21, a celebration of research, scholarship and creative activity at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The event lineup is taking shape, with additional details to come throughout the fall semester. Research Days is hosted by the Office of Research and Innovation in collaboration with campus partners.
- Nov. 17: NUtech Ventures will host a special event to celebrate faculty innovation.
- Nov. 18: R&I will offer opportunities for conversations with staff and program officers to learn about federal agencies’ research and funding opportunities.
- Nov. 19: The annual Faculty Research and Creative Activity Slam is 4-6 p.m. at the Wick Alumni Center, 1520 R St. Faculty will be selected to present highly engaging five-minute talks about their research. A panel of judges will award an overall winner, and the audience will vote on a special audience choice award. Oct. 10 is the deadline to apply to be a Slammer. Register to attend.
- Nov. 20: UNL’s chapter of the Association of Women in Science will host a luncheon celebrating women in science and their impact from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Nebraska East Union, Great Plains Room. The keynote speaker is Susan A. Martinis, vice chancellor for research and innovation at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the Stephen G. Sligar Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Register to attend.
- Nov. 21: An annual tradition, the Faculty Recognition Breakfast is 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Willa Cather Dining Center, Red Cloud Suite. Jen Nelson, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation, will give remarks about the year’s accomplishments in research, scholarly and creative activity at Nebraska. Register to attend.
During the week, R&I also will launch the online edition of the 2024-2025 Nebraska Research Report and the 2025 Research and Creative Activity Report. The current editions are available on the Publications webpage at research.unl.edu.
