A two-day workshop is available for researchers exploring the commercialization pathway of launching a startup company.
“From Idea to Startup,” hosted by NUtech Ventures and Nebraska Innovation Campus, will meet from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. on July 30-31. Registration is now open, with a deadline of July 16.
This free workshop will provide training and networking opportunities to help innovators consider a range of topics related to starting a company.
Sessions will cover practical matters, including idea validation and funding a startup, and also examine the startup journey from a personal perspective. Local founders will discuss their journeys and lessons learned. Guest speakers and panelists will share their expertise and resources, and participants will have opportunities to ask questions and network with innovation resource experts.
Because content will vary widely from day one to day two, attendance is strongly encouraged for the entire workshop.
This workshop is open to all University of Nebraska faculty, staff, postdocs and students, as well as community partners. The workshop will be especially helpful for startups based on university intellectual property. However, participants do not need to have a current startup idea or IP to attend.
The workshop will be in the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center, Breakout Rooms B1 and B2. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided both days, with an end-of-day social hour on July 31.
A short homework assignment will need to be completed between the two days of the workshop.
