The Office of Research and Innovation is launching a new process for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln community to elevate concepts for potential federal appropriations priority requests.
Each year, the University of Nebraska system presents a portfolio of appropriations requests to Nebraska’s congressional delegation, seeking advocacy and funding for priority projects and programs.
As outlined in a new Request for Concepts/Proposals, eligible UNL faculty and staff are invited to submit concept notes outlining potential federal appropriations request projects by June 30. Following concept note review, select teams will be invited to submit a federal appropriations request proposal by Aug. 31, for consideration as one of UNL’s requests that will then be submitted for further consideration as one of the system’s federal priority appropriation requests for fiscal year 2028.
Those interested in learning more about federal appropriations requests and the new process outlined in the Request for Concepts/Proposals are encouraged to register and attend one of two virtual office hours offered in June:
- June 5: 10-11 a.m.: Register today.
- June 10: 2-3 p.m.: Register today.
