March 2 is the deadline to apply for Layman awards, internal grants of up to $10,000 each aimed at enhancing faculty members’ ability to obtain external research funding to support prominent scholarly work.

There are two types of Layman grants. The first, Layman Seed Awards, provides seed funding for non-tenured early career faculty research projects. The second, Layman New Directions Awards, supports tenured faculty branching into new research areas or pursuing pilot/developmental work toward the next step of a funded research program.

The March 2 deadline is for the funding period of August 2020 through July 2021. More information is available in the request for applications.
