Faculty who are preparing revised applications for the USDA NIFA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Foundational and Applied Science program are invited to register for the AFRI FAS Revise and Resubmit Proposal Sprint on Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m.- noon, with continental breakfast available at 8 a.m. The event is the Nebraska East Union, Great Plains Room A.

Building on the AFRI Revise and Resubmit Virtual Workshop presented by Deb Hamernik, senior research adviser in the Office of Research and Innovation, this half-day proposal sprint is designed to provide proposers, including both individual investigators and teams, with dedicated time and expert guidance to translate reviewer feedback from a previous submission into a targeted resubmission strategy for this U.S. Department of Agriculture-National Institute of Food and Agriculture program.

Each proposer will receive a customized reviewer feedback analysis report at the start of the session. The report synthesizes reviewer comments from the previous submission, identifies proposal-specific strengths and weaknesses, and recommends priority revisions. Through structured exercises, peer review and coaching, participants will develop a clear revision roadmap and draft a one-page response to their previous review that can be used in discussions with USDA program officers and refined for inclusion in a revised proposal package. Participants will also learn about UNL services available to support proposal development.

For questions, contact Tisha Gilreath Mullen, director of proposal development.
