The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will celebrate Husker students’ research contributions during Student Research Days

The week kicks off April 7 with poster sessions and presentations at the Nebraska Union, Centennial Room. The event features students’ presentations in engineering and physical sciences. One of the week’s highlights, the Student Research Slam on April 9, will feature five students communicating about their work in five-minute dynamic, engaging presentations. Attendees will vote and choose a winner. The Slam begins with lunch at 11:30 at the Wick Alumni Center. The event is free, but registration is required.

The 2026 Slammers are: Prabhashis Bose, graduate student, food science and technology; Zenebu Derbew, graduate student, civil and environmental engineering; Maxwell Lottes, senior, psychology; Babatunde Okunlola, graduate student, journalism and mass communications; and Oluwamayowa Oluwaniyi, doctoral student, mechanical and materials engineering.

The two-part ag series is 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. at the East Campus Union and features two recently retired experts from Corteva Agriculture. Plant breeder Klaus Koehler will present the first-session talks: “From Corn Breeding 1.0 to 4.0” and “The Commercial Product Development Pipeline in Corn.” Plant scientist Todd Jones will present the second session: “Corteva’s Ag Accelerator Program” and “From Bench to Bin: Optimizing an Integrated Development Pipeline for GM and Gene-Edited Crops.”
