A virtual informational meeting about the upcoming National Institutes of Health’s Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award for Early Stage Investigators funding opportunity is scheduled for Nov. 12, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.

MIRA provides support for a program of research in an early-stage investigator’s laboratory that falls within the mission of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. A program of research is a collection of projects in the investigator’s lab that are relevant to NIGMS’ mission.

The goal of MIRA is to increase the efficiency and efficacy of NIGMS funding. McAllister & Quinn, a government relations and grant consulting firm, will provide an overview of the funding opportunity, including guidance on competitive proposal strategies and best practices. A panel of faculty awardees will then offer their experiences and insights on the awards, and all parties will be available for a question-and-answer session.

This session is a valuable opportunity for faculty planning to submit to the Feb. 3, 2026, deadline.
