The Office of Research and Innovation is launching a yearlong campaign to bring attention to campus resources and educational opportunities related to research data. The “Year of Data” campaign will run September 2025 through April 2026, with monthly topics related to the research data life cycle and research data management.

Scheduled activities related to research data will be shared on the research data website, as well as Research News and university event calendars.
The Nebraska research community is encouraged to share information about related activities and offer feedback on programming. R&I seeks input on the following:
- Planned events and activities: Units hosting activities related to research data management or the data life cycle during the 2025-2026 academic year are encouraged to share information so it may be considered in marketing efforts. Activities could include guest speakers, brown bag luncheons, events, training opportunities and more.
- Program ideas: Individuals who have ideas for research data-related activities or would like to coordinate with R&I to plan an activity related to the monthly topics are encouraged to reach out. Planned topics include the research data life cycle, planning for research, the importance of place, research principles, research resources at UNL, collaboration, data sharing and sustainability, and new technologies.
To share suggestions, questions or information, contact Alian Kasabian, research data and security liaison, or email researchdata@unl.edu.
