The Office of Research and Innovation will offer an information session about the Air Force Office of Scientific Research’s Defense University Research Instrumentation Program. UNL faculty interested in applying for this opportunity are invited to attend the Zoom event from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Sept. 3. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.

DURIP provides funding for the acquisition of research equipment to support fundamental research in areas relevant to AFOSR.

This program is designed to enhance university research capabilities, strengthen research infrastructure and support the education of future scientists and engineers.

Program officer Katie Wisecarver will provide an overview of the program, discuss proposal timelines and requirements, and answer questions about how to effectively position requests. A faculty panel of awardees will also join to share their experience with the awards.

This is a valuable opportunity for faculty planning to submit instrumentation proposals aligned with AFOSR’s research priorities. Note that while AFOSR runs this program, both the respective Navy and Army offices also participate. Each branch has its own research interests. Interested researchers should contact the specific program officers identified as the lead for each area to determine project alignment: ONR AA, ONR technology and research areas; ARO BAA and research areas.

The Sept. 3 information session is hosted by the University of Idaho and organized in collaboration with Montana State University, UNL, the University of Nevada, Reno, and Utah State University.

For more information, contact Heather Borck, research development program coordinator, 402-472-4090.
