Research Compliance Services has created several resources to assist study teams in the submission of forms for ongoing research and new submissions. These resources include updated FAQs, training videos, new project form guidance documents and consent form template tools.
Details about the updated resources follow:
- IRB FAQ Updates: IRB FAQs continue to be updated during the transition from NUgrant to NuRamp in the IRB module. A specific section in the IRB FAQs has been added to provide additional information regarding submission of change request forms for projects that were previously approved via NUgrant.
- Closure of certain forms on Oct. 18: New Project Forms and Determination Forms previously started in NUgrant but never submitted for review – thus remaining in preparation status during the transition from NUgrant to NuRamp – will be administratively closed Oct. 18. Researchers can still access all information in the form, but in order to submit the project, it must be started in a new form in the NuRamp system. Direct email notification will be sent to all PIs with forms impacted by this closure process.
- IRB module videos available: Live IRB module training has concluded, but the RCS Video Resources have been updated to include brief, short videos specific to IRB module NuRamp navigation. Researchers can learn how to navigate the IRB module and new tips and tricks.
- Reminder about the newly created consent form generator tool: Access this tool via the Forms and Templates page. This will help study teams ensure they have all necessary regulatory information in consent forms and incorporate the use of plain-language principles.
- Reminder about new NuRamp guidance document for New Project Forms: When writing IRB applications, use the new guidance document, as it includes references specific to the question linked to policy, guidance and other external information, including additional context specific to the question.
