A series of free online webinars in April will give Nebraska faculty, post-docs and graduate students information about several innovation funding programs through the National Science Foundation.

The series is offered through the NSF’s Great Lakes Region’s I-Corps Hub, which the University of Nebraska-Lincoln joined in 2022. The hub’s programming builds on NUtech Venture’s Nebraska-based I-Corps programming for researchers with an entrepreneurial focus.

The seminars offered through the hub feature national experts.

The schedule, with links for more information and registration:

April 8, 10-11 a.m. Central Time: “All About National I-Corps.” Learn about the prestigious $50,000 NSF I-Corps grant and program.

April 11, 10-11 a.m.: “Activate Followship Webinar.” Discover the benefits of the Activate Fellowship, which include a stipend while developing a start-up.

April 15, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: “How to Leverage I-Corps for Small Business Innovation Research.” Learn the best practices when applying for government SBIR funding opportunities.

April 18, 10-11 a.m.: “PFI and GOALI: Accelerate Use-Inspired Research Translation.” Discover the potential of NSF’s Partnerships for Innovation and Grant Opportunities for Academic Liaison with Industry programs.

The NSF’s Innovation Corps program is designed to prepare scientists and engineers to extend their focus beyond the laboratory and to accelerate the transfer of cutting-edge, NSF-funded research into commercial success.
