The Office of Sponsored Programs is offering a training video for principal investigators and others who need to verify Project Verification Statements for internal controls. It is posted on ORED’s Research EDucation website.
PVS is a project-based methodology that focuses on a system of internal controls. These controls involve the amount and type of documentation required to support salary, wage and benefit charges to federal, federal pass-through and cost share awards. One report is generated for each project on an annual basis, listing all employees assigned to it. The video provides step-by-step instructions on how to verify the PVS.
Department contacts and grants administration staff can learn more about PVS during regularly scheduled Research Administration Essentials sessions, ORED’s comprehensive training program for those who administer research grants. The spring 2021 workshop schedule will be announced soon. For more information, contact Laurie Sampson, learning and development coordinator.
