Two University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty will talk about their experiences as Fulbright scholars at a Jan. 23 event. The lecture is 5:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union auditorium, with a reception following the presentations.
Dawne Curry, associate professor of history and ethnic studies, earned a Fulbright to South Africa, where she researched the role of women in the country’s political system. Amelia M.L. Montes, an associate professor of English and ethnic studies, taught graduate courses in American literary studies and theory in the former Yugoslavia. Both were abroad during the 2017-2018 academic year.
The Fulbright lecture is sponsored by the Office of Research and Economic Development, the Department of English, the Department of History and the Institute for Ethnic Studies.
The Fulbright Scholar Program is an international, educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. State Department. Scholars are supported for teaching and research in issues of international concern.
