The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and 16 other federal departments and agencies have issued an additional six-month delay to the general compliance date for the revised Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects, also known as the Common Rule. The new compliance date is Jan. 21, 2019.

A copy of the final rule is available on the Federal Register website.

To help UNL researchers comply with the new regulations, Research Compliance Services will continue providing information and updates on its Changes to the Common Rule webpage. Human subjects researchers are urged to use this resource for details on changes to the regulations and their impact on the university, explanations on how to comply with the changes, frequently asked questions, training opportunities and additional links and information.
