The following summary sheets are provided to provide general guidance for specific federal sponsor awards. Awards are typically governed by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Contracts awarded by a sponsor are covered by Federal Acquisition Regulations rather than the Code of Federal Regulations. As such, the summary sheets do not apply to contracts. Cooperative agreements are generally covered by the CFR; however, by definition, a cooperative agreement will have more sponsor involvement in the programmatic effort of the project. The Terms and Conditions section of the agreement will have the expected involvement, additional reporting requirements and other items to be aware of in managing your award.
In addition to these sponsor sheets, you should consult OMB Circular A-21, Cost Principles for Educational Institutions, the funding announcement, any sponsor guidelines and your specific award for additional rules governing your award.
