Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Agricultural Research and Teaching
National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) organized a consortium in May 1986 to develop the Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Agricultural Research and Teaching. It was intended to be used much as the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals is used for animals in biomedical research. The Agriculture Guide provides information on the most common agricultural animals under a variety of teaching and research circumstances. This is the basis upon which care and use of agricultural animals are evaluated in UNL research and teaching programs.

The Federation of Animal Science Societies published the first edition for the care and use of Agricultural Animals in Agricultural Research and Teaching in 1999.
