Welcome to the Research Council
The Research Council represents the diversity of research, scholarship and creative activity at UNL with twelve faculty members who are appointed for three-year terms of service. The primary functions of the Research Council are to advise the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development; to select speakers and host the Nebraska Lecture Series; and to review and award internal grants for research, scholarship and creative activities with funds allocated from the University of Nebraska Foundation.The Research Council uses an electronic proposal submission process. The electronic applications are posted on the Research Council website.
Deadlines for electronic submission of applications are as follows:
- Faculty Seed Grants, Grants-In-Aid and Interdisciplinary Research Grants are due October 15, 2009. There is only one deadline per academic year for these programs (provides funding from 1/1/2010-12/31/2010).
- Visiting Scholars and Symposia/Distinguished Lecturers are due October 15, 2009 (provides funding for scholars from 1/1/2010-6/30/2010) and March 22, 2010 (provides funding for scholars from 7/1/2010-12/31/2010).
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Electronic submission of proposals to the Research Council Office is required.Please obtain your chair and dean signatures prior to submitting the proposal to the Research Council Office. When all signatures have been obtained, please scan the entire document into one file and submit to the Research Council Office at unlresearch@unl.edu.
An electronic copy of the proposal (in a single Word or pdf file) must be submitted electronically to the Research Council Office (unlresearch@unl.edu) on or before the above deadlines.
