Jdiamond1Judy Diamond is the envy of her counterparts at other universities.

Not only has the science educator landed multimillion-dollar grants for projects on evolutionary biology and virology, she’s had a team behind her every step of the way.

“At UNL, we are extremely fortunate to have an unusual amount of support for writing grant proposals,” says Diamond, who is professor and curator of informal science education at the University of Nebraska State Museum. “Others are greatly envious of our resources.”

The Office of Proposal Development offers more than editing help, she says. The staff is a sounding board for ideas and keeps the proposal on track – an invaluable service for someone whose projects typically involve multiple investigators collaborating with a variety of external partners.

“I am much more likely to attempt such projects knowing they are here to help.”
