The <b>Graduate Student Research Exhibition<\/b>\u00a0is an opportunity to showcase your research or creative activity; to communicate results to other students, faculty and staff; and to facilitate the interdisciplinary work on campus by exchanging knowledge and ideas between individuals, labs, and disciplines.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dcf-bleed unl-bg-lighter-gray\">\n<div class=\"wdn-inner-wrapper dcf-pt-6 dcf-pb-6\">\n<div class=\"dcf-grid-halves@md dcf-col-gap-vw\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<h2>Registration<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.unl.edu\/events\/researchdays_nuramp.php?EMSEventUUID=8d80f39f-393e-4af9-a09c-2c1bc2504706\">Register to Present Your Poster<\/a><br \/>\n<em>Students must register by March 13.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Communication regarding the Poster Session will be by email so be sure the address you use when registering is an account you check regularly. (Also check its &#8220;junk&#8221; folder.) For more information contact <a href=\"http:\/\/directory.unl.edu\/people\/lrohde2\">Dr. Lisa Rohde<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<h2>Schedule for Week<\/h2>\n<p>Each day will feature separate disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>April 7: Engineering and Physical Sciences<\/li>\n<li>April 8: Arts and Humanities, Education, Business, Social Sciences, Life Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will hold in-person poster sessions for graduate students from 3-5 pm on each day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dcf-bleed\">\n<div class=\"dcf-wrapper dcf-pt-6 dcf-pb-6\">\n<h2 id=\"competition\">Competition<\/h2>\n<p>The Office of Research and Innovation, in conjunction with the Office of Graduate Studies, will host an awards competition that will provide students whose research poster or display is deemed outstanding by faculty judges a travel grant\/poster award.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wdn-alt-header\">Submit your poster presentation<\/h3>\n<p>Poster Presentations should be submitted to Lisa Rohde no later than March 31. Additional information on this process will follow.\u00a0 Winners will be notified no later than Friday, May 9, and announced through UNL Today and the Graduate Studies website. More information is provided on the <a href=\"_wp_link_placeholder\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">poster guidelines page.<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"dcf-grid-halves@md dcf-col-gap-vw\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<h3 class=\"wdn-alt-header\">Criteria<\/h3>\n<p>Presentations will be judged on the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Content:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Clearly defines research topic\/problem\/hypotheses<\/li>\n<li>The significance of the research clearly stated<\/li>\n<li>Research questions align with methods<\/li>\n<li>Presentation of data is clear, thorough, detailed<\/li>\n<li>Ethical issues\/limitations\/validity issues addressed<\/li>\n<li>Directions for future research addressed<\/li>\n<li>For creative works, must include discussion of meaning\/significance and\/or reflections on the body of work exhibited<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Design:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Visually appealing<\/li>\n<li>Well organized; easy to read\/see<\/li>\n<li>Conveys most important information about the project<\/li>\n<li>Figures\/tables\/graphs complement presentation<\/li>\n<li>Free of grammatical errors or misspellings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Effective answers questions from judges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<h3 class=\"wdn-alt-header\">Research areas<\/h3>\n<p>One student in each of the following research areas will receive an award:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Arts &amp; Humanities:<\/b> Art &amp; Art History, Music, Theatre Arts &amp; Film, Architecture, Communication Studies (Rhetoric &amp; Public Culture), English, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Journalism<\/li>\n<li><b>Physical Sciences:<\/b> Chemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics<\/li>\n<li><b>Engineering:<\/b> All departments in the College of Engineering<\/li>\n<li><b>Business and Social Sciences:<\/b> All departments in the College of Business Administration plus Anthropology, Communication Studies (Interpersonal, Family, &amp; Health Communication), Community &amp; Regional Planning, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design<\/li>\n<li><b>Agricultural and Life Sciences:<\/b> Biological Sciences, Nutrition &amp; Health Sciences, and all departments in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources<\/li>\n<li><b>Education:<\/b> Educational Psychology, Educational Administration, Child Youth &amp; Family Studies, Special Education &amp; Communication Disorders, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nebraska Union \u2014 April 7-8, 2026 A celebration highlighting graduate student research and creative activity will be held as part of the campus-wide UNL Student Research Days.
