2020 Grant Writing Seminar

The Office of Research and Economic Development is offering its annual Write Winning Grant Proposals seminar on Friday, March 13 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Wick Alumni Center. Registration is required to attend; due to space and the need to pre-order workbooks, walk-in participants cannot be accommodated.

Faculty, staff and postdocs can select one of the seminar’s four workbooks, depending on the source from which they plan to seek funding: National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Agriculture, or a general version geared toward smaller funding agencies and foundations. Each participant may select only one workbook. Please indicate your preference on the registration form.

The seminar comprehensively addresses both practical and conceptual aspects important to the proposal writing process, emphasizing:

This seminar is free for University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty. Other university staff and postdoctoral research fellows may attend for free if spots are available.

Faculty and staff from the other University of Nebraska campuses may attend but will be charged $150 to cover seminar costs. Participants not affiliated with the University of Nebraska will be charged $200 and can pay on the day of the seminar.

Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. The session will start at 8:30 a.m. A buffet lunch will also be served. Both meals are complementary.

Graduate students: ORED with the Office of Graduate Studies is also sponsoring Grant Proposal Writing: Getting Started, designed specifically for you. This half-day workshop is March 12.
