As a veteran faculty member, Jim Lewis knows a thing or two about writing successful proposals.<\/p>\n
But when Lewis began working on an ambitious proposal to build a statewide partnership to support Nebraska mathematics teachers, he turned to the Office of Proposal Development.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was delighted and ecstatic to discover this resource,\u201d he says. \u201cThey were talented, calm under pressure and eager to be helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n
The extra help paid off. In 2008, NSF awarded UNL a $9.3 million grant for NEBRASKA MATH, a statewide partnership that provides unique opportunities for Nebraska mathematics teachers to enhance their knowledge and teaching methods.<\/p>\n
