Rally the Red<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This fall the Office of Student Life is promoting ‘Rally the Red<\/strong>‘ every Friday. Here are some fun facts about the color red (from https:\/\/www.thefactsite.com\/8-wild-facts-about-color-red\/<\/a>).

1. Red is the first primary color babies see. 
2. The red stripes on the American flag stand for hardiness, valor, and courage. It also honors all the heroes who gave their lives in service to the nation. 
3. The first red lipsticks were made over 5000 years ago from crushed gemstones. 
4. Red hair is the rarest type in the world.  Natural redheads make up less than 2% of the world’s population. 
5. The most valuable colored diamonds are red diamonds. 
6. Studies show that men look more attractive to women when they wear red. 
7. Seeing the color red makes you eat more, which is why it’s a popular color in restaurant decor. 
8. Different colored gas flames burn at different temperatures, with red flames burning at around 1832 degrees Fahrenheit. 
9. Ever had the red devil eye in pictures?  A reflective layer of blood vessels and pigments at the back of your eyeball is responsible. It happens when light from the camera’s flash strikes this layer. 
10. Red is the color of winners! Studies show that sports teams wearing red uniforms won more games.

The Employee Wellness and Community Resource Fair supports an ongoing mission to inform, educate, and empower employees to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Password Manager<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The University offers a password manager, Delinea Secret Server, to employees. A password manager allows users to securely store and, as needed, share passwords. The cost is $23.06\/year\/user. University Employee Learning Week events October 21-25, 2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Virtual professional development sessions will be offered the week of October 21-25, 2024, hosted by each campus’ Office of Human Resources. Make plans to attend any or all of these events. The sessions are open to all staff on any University of Nebraska campus or office. Interested participants can read full descriptions and register online through the Nebraska Bridge App.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
