OPEN Forum – Register by May 7<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

R&I’s Spring OPEN Forum will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 8:15-10:00 a.m. at the Cather Dining Complex at 530 N 17th Street in meeting room Red Cloud A.

The presentation will focus on R&I’s Vision, Mission, Values, Goals, and the Path to AAU. Sherri Jones, Interim Vice Chancellor will give a high-level presentation on our vision, mission, values, functions, and goals. Becky Zavala, Assistant Vice Chancellor will follow with some information on the AAU membership indicators and the importance of becoming a university of AAU stature.

A continental breakfast will be served at 8:15 a.m. The program will begin around 8:45 and will conclude by 10:00.\u00a0\u00a0Please\u00a0RSVP\u00a0your attendance plans<\/strong><\/a>by May 7.\u00a0 \u00a0

OPEN Forum\u00a0is a quarterly meeting for all R&I staff; it is an opportunity to gather with colleagues, have fun, and learn about an important aspect of the office.\u00a0 If you have questions regarding the OPEN Forum contact\u00a0Becky Carter<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Elzbieta (Ella) Korlacka and I am thrilled to join the OSP team as a Project Specialist. I am Nebraskan by choice, born in Poland, where I graduated from Cracow University of Economics with a master’s degree in marketing and management. I am a mother of two boys, both engineering students. In my free time, I like hiking, exploring new places, baking for my loved ones, and rescuing distressed houseplants from some of my friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m graduated from University of Texas at Dallas with a Master’s degree in Accounting and got my CPA license a year after graduation. Moving to Lincoln in 2018, I’ve been part of UNL, working as the Physics, Biology, and Chemistry departments financial specialist in the past five years. Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and two young kids, aged 4 and 7, gardening and hiking. It’s all about finding that balance between work and family for me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I began my career in higher education as a Grants & Contracts Administrator at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.\u00a0 After earning a M.S. in Management Information Systems, I took other positions at NIU and Wheaton College which ended up be more technical in nature than I anticipated.\u00a0 I recently began looking for a new position within finance or grants administration when a position at UNL was brought to my attention.\u00a0 I did not initially believe I would be able to work fully remote from Illinois, but here I am.\u00a0 I am happy to join the team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greetings, my name is The Benjamin Rogers but most people call me Ben.\u00a0 After receiving my Bachelors in Accounting I found my niche in the grant world, gaining knowledge\/experience from places like the Nebraska Crime Commission, Lancaster County, and NIC Business Center.\u00a0 Wanting to get back to my post awards roots I found the perfect opportunity to bring my talents\/skills\/humor to the Office of Sponsored Programs as a Program Specialist II.\u00a0 When I’m not crunching numbers and dominating spreadsheets, you can find me hanging with my daughter, fishing, camping, at the gym, with friends or napping.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
