The Office of Research and Economic Development will select up to 12 faculty to participate in the program annually through a university-wide application process. During 2022-2023, NU 2 NIH will focus on the Research Project Grant (R01) mechanism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2022-2023 offering of NU 2 NIH will focus on strategic development of all NIH R01 application components, including specific aims, research strategy, budget and ancillary documents. Through experiential learning, mock review panels and expert consultation, NU 2 NIH will guide participants as they prepare a complete R01 application for submission in October 2023. In addition, and with guidance from ORED, participants will identify an investigator from outside the University of Nebraska with a track record of NIH support to serve as a program mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 2022-2023 academic year, NU 2 NIH programming will run from September to April. This will be followed by two rounds of proposal review during the summer of 2023 with intended proposal submission in early October 2023. Those faculty who are interested must attend the two-day NIH R01 Development Workshop, Part 1 hosted by ORED.
