The Office of Research and Economic Development will offer a grant writing seminar, “Write Winning Grant Proposals,” on March 15, 2019, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center auditorium. Registration is open.
This free seminar is offered each year primarily for University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty. However, if spots are available, other university staff, postdoctoral research fellows and graduate students are welcome to attend free of charge.
We welcome participation from UNMC, UNO and UNK faculty, staff and graduate students; however, there is a $150 fee for these participants to cover seminar costs. Participants may use an internal cost object to cover the fee. For non-university participants, the fee is $200, and payment can be made the day of the seminar. Checks should be made payable to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Four versions of the seminar workbook are available, depending on the sources from which you plan to seek funding: the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and a general version geared towards smaller funding agencies and foundations. Each participant may select only one workbook. Please indicate your preference on the registration form.
The seminar comprehensively addresses both practical and conceptual aspects important to the proposal writing process, emphasizing:
- idea development;
- identification of appropriate granting agencies;
- how to write for reviewers; and
- tips and strategies of proven value in presenting an applicant’s case to reviewers.
Registration and breakfast are 7:45-8:30 a.m. Food is not allowed in the Nebraska Innovation Campus auditorium. A buffet lunch also will be served.
