The Office of Research and Economic Development offers an annual grant writing seminar each spring, typically before UNL’s scheduled Spring Break. Watch this page for more information about registration, which will be released by February 1st.
This free seminar is offered each year primarily for University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty. However, if spots are available, other university staff, postdoctoral research fellows and graduate students are welcome to attend free of charge.
We welcome participation from UNMC, UNO and UNK faculty, staff and graduate students; however, there is a fee for these participants to cover seminar costs. Participants may use an internal cost object to cover the fee. Non-university participants will be billed.
The seminar comprehensively addresses both practical and conceptual aspects important to the proposal writing process, emphasizing:
- idea development;
- identification of appropriate granting agencies;
- how to write for reviewers; and
- tips and strategies of proven value in presenting an applicant’s case to reviewers.
