Kevin Schluckebier

Schluckebier
Architectural Project Manager
BCDM

Kevin Schluckebier infuses his passion for sustainability into the fabric and content of his projects. One of his recent projects, the Saddlebrook joint facility, features a rain garden and partial green roof (a first of its kind in Omaha), along with a monitoring system that displays a real-time comparison of data taken from both the green roof and traditional roof for students and the public to view. He also has worked with students on Saddlebrook Elementary School’s Green Team, as they explore and care for the surrounding prairie, wetlands and bio-swale.

A graduate of UNL with a bachelor of science degree in architectural studies, Kevin came to BCDM 17 years ago with a background that included landscape design – enhancing his commitment to preservation of the natural environment.

Always learning and growing, Kevin is a LEED Accredited Professional and is pursuing Registered Educational Facility Planner accreditation through the Council of Educational Facility Planners International. When he completes that certification in December 2011, Kevin will be one of only three REFPs in the state of Nebraska, joining co-speaker Mark Warneke and BCDM Principal Bob Mabrey.

He is involved in projects from initial facility assessment to completion of construction administration. Kevin facilitates intensive, interactive communication with all stakeholders in development of creative design solutions to meet clients’ needs. The consensus built through this process has resulted in many successful joint-use projects.

Kevin’s projects throughout Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas are representative examples of his resourcefulness and expertise in achieving sustainable solutions that respect the character of the surrounding community.
