All Girls All Math

All Girls All Math is a week-long residential summer mathematics camp for high school girls held at UNL that provides an invigorating and supportive environment for girls to develop their mathematical abilities and interests.

Click2SciencePD (Click) is an interactive professional development site for trainers, coaches, site directors and staff implementing (STEM) learning experiences for youth in out-of-school settings. By working with Click, researchers can tap into the existing infrastructure and resources to teach trainers/coaches and front-line staff delivering STEM education content to youth.

Discover Engineering Days

Discover Engineering Days introduce middle school students (grades 6-8) and their teachers to the various fields in engineering and the engineering programs offered at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The event is hosted by the college’s outreach organization and is filled with hands-on activities that apply engineering habits of the mind such as collaborative, problem solving, creative, and critical thinking skills.

Engineering Ambassadors Network

The Engineering Ambassadors Network is a national network of universities with an outreach mission. The Nebraska chapter, comprised of engineering undergraduate students from both Lincoln and Omaha, work with K-12 youth throughout the state using interactive, engaging presentations on an engineering topic paired with hands-on activities.

Investigate: Second Saturday Science Lab

The University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall is open the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for Investigate: Second Saturday Science Lab. Here, participants investigate a variety of science and natural history topics through hands-on activities and exploration.

Kutak Center for the Teaching and Study of Applied Ethics

The impact of a research project will do more than fill a gap in knowledge for experts in a particular field. Extending the impact can take many forms but generally it serves to increase autonomous agency, well-being and opportunity. The Kutak Ethics Center helps identify innovative methods and connects PIs with one another and communities.

Math Day

More than 100 Nebraska high schools bring 1,500 students to the UNL campus for a day of fast-paced mathematics. Math Day is designed for students in grades 9-12 and for exceptional students in lower grades.

Nebraska Invasive Species Council

The Nebraska Invasive Species Program promotes invasive species prevention through outreach to the public and resource agencies, presentations, and events that the public may attend. The program conducts research to promote Nebraska’s natural resources and coordinates the Nebraska Invasive Species Advisory Council, which advises the governor and legislature on invasive species issues.

NOAA High Plains Regional Climate Center

The NOAA High Plains Regional Climate Center, housed within UNL’s School of Natural Resources, serves to increase the use and availability of climate data and information. As a part of this mission, Center staff conduct research in support of emerging climate-related needs of stakeholders, often in topic areas such as agriculture, water resources, resiliency, and computational sciences.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

Sunday With a Scientist is a series of presentations that highlight the work of scientists, while educating kids and families on a variety of topics related to science and natural history. Women in Science Conference

This two-day event brings high school girls from across Nebraska and the Midwest region to campus to explore their interests in science careers. Women in Science is for students who want to interact with career and academic professional women in science and discover countless professions as diverse as biologists, geologists, engineers, food scientists, computer scientists, and those in the medical fields.
