Bright Lights

Bright Lights provides hands-on student learning opportunities in the summer. Students explore their interests in a fun way that is challenging and inspiring. The classes cover a broad range of curriculum for completed grades kindergarten through eighth, offering something of interest for all students.

Girls Code Lincoln

Striving to ignite passion for technology and leadership in young girls, Girls Code Lincoln has the long-term goal of closing the gender gap in STEM. Girls Code Lincoln partners with Nebraska organizations and build in-house curriculum to teach technology, leadership and life skills.

Kids Can Community Center

At Kids Can Community Center, the mission is to educate, engage and inspire children through early childhood care and out-of-school experiences. Kids Can created the STEMsmart Academy program to engage children beyond the traditional STEM curriculum by incorporating Strength, Music, Art, Reading and Tutoring.

Lincoln Children’s Museum

Build, dance, play, climb, create, sing and laugh at the Lincoln Children’s Museum. Offering three floors and 23,300 square feet of hands-on exhibits and imaginative programs, LCM allows children and adults to discover the adventure of learning through play together.

Lincoln Public Schools Summer Technology Program

The Lincoln Public Schools Summer Technology Program is provided for students entering grades 4 through 9 in the upcoming fall semester. The goal of the program is to provide upper elementary and middle level students a fun, exciting, and challenging opportunity to explore their interests in computers and technology.

Nebraska Science Festival

The Nebraska Science Festival is designed to make science accessible, interactive, relevant and fun for kids and adults alike. An initiative of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the state-wide festival began in 2013 and continues with the help of organizations and individuals interested in the advancement of science literacy.

Project WILD

Project WILD provides interdisciplinary conservation and environmental education curriculum and materials that focus on wildlife and conservation for all educators – formal and non-formal, pre-K through high school. The Project WILD program also offers free education workshops and resources for educators.

Science Café

Sponsored by UNMC, Science Café involves a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. The event is open to everyone (21 and older) and takes place in locations like pubs and coffeehouses. The casual meeting place, plain language and inclusive conversation create a welcome and comforting atmosphere for people with no science background.
