Research Expenditures<\/h2>\n

UNL\u2019s research expenditures totaled more than $235 million in 2011, the most recent fiscal year for which expenditure information is available. This total included nearly $106 million in federal research expenditures. The National Science Foundation accounted for 26 percent of UNL\u2019s federal research expenditures, followed by 25 percent from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including the National Institutes of Health, and 12 percent from the Department of Defense. UNL\u2019s goal is to achieve $300 million in total research expenditures by 2017, with at least half coming from federal agencies.<\/p>\n
